The Matt Blackwell Foundation Holiday Hoops Classic is a church-league basketball tournament for both boys and girls teams who compete in the Moriah League. Team trophies for the champions are awarded as well as a special trophy recognizing the boys and girls individual sportsmanship winner.
2011 Tournament Results
The Matt Blackwell Foundation celebrated the Christmas season with its 10th Annual Holiday Hoops Classic Basketball Tournament. The week-long tournament involves teams who participate in the Moriah Baptist Association League, from first graders to high school seniors.
Tournament games this year were played at area church gyms (Hyde Park Baptist, Covenant Baptist, & Hyde Park Baptist) during the week with weekend games played at North Elementary and Lancaster High School. All championship games were played at Lancaster High. Besides crowning champions in 4 age divisions, a Matt Blackwell Sportsmanship Award was presented to a player in each division.
